lately i've been noticing a trend.
no school means i catch up on all my design blogs in the morning then i'm at home for most of the day
and i start getting the cleaning/organizing bug...then i start getting ideas...
yesterday i was doing some routine cleaning when i remembered that i have a huge frame i've been meaning to turn in to a chalkboard.
so, i ended up painting the board up (i'll post that later...it still needs another coat.)
while i was in the garage i remembered we had a gallon of paint leftover from when Cody first moved in to this house and we had planned on doing some argyle pattern on his office wall. well, that never happened so my natural thought was that our front entryway was terribly drab and a {free} gallon of paint was just what i needed.
so i painted a cardboard sample and hung it on the wall for Cody to see when he got home from work.
it helped that earlier in the day i showed him some awesome paint stripes in a house i saw online.
i said, "what do you think of that color? too dark?"
he said, "no...i think it looks great with the light color."
so i said, "what do you think about stripes?"
then he said, "i think they would look good."
then i was like, "sooooooo....does that mean we can paint?!"
and he was all, "yea, when do you want to start? let me guess, tonight for fhe?"
and thats how it happened. and not only did Cody let me paint, he did all the calculating, measuring, most of the taping and most of the painting (while i cut in the corners and peeled the tape off to reveal not so even lines). thus i was scratching away at the stripes all night with lysol wipes to try and clean them up a bit.
oh, i am one happy girl!
especially because while we were painting the color looked more like a dark brown, which was not my favorite but okay because at least something was being done about our boring entryway.
but then it dried and turned into a beautiful dark gray color that i am in love with.
i just love gray, what can i say?
and, i just love when Cody gets spontaneous with me. all in all a great day.
Love it! And can't wait to see it. Good thing Cody is on board. Cory won't let me paint anything! Cody needs to give a talk in to
