germany - day one.

for the last week of september and the first week of october, my dad and i traveled across the pond and made our way to hamburg, germany to visit his sister, my aunt mitra.
germany was so beautiful i couldn't even handle it. everywhere we went we were surround by gorgeous trees and scenery. i love that germany totally lived up to my expectations of beautiful, historical buildings with the perfect balance of nature.
our plane landed late on the night we got in so the next day was our first full day in germany and we visited blankenese, which is close to where they live in hamburg. it was a beautiful town with beautiful houses settled on the hills in front of the harbor; supposedly very expensive houses.

streets of blankenese! every street was just so small and always crowded with cars.

i could get used to driving along roads with with this lush scenery though.

typical deutsch post, the cutest mail delivery bicycles were everywhere because there's no way a mail truck our size could get to where it would need with the tiny streets and traffic.

daddy and me.

my aunt just kept pointing out persian things to me left and right, like this persian market. what a crazy name!

where do i even start?! i was SO excited to go to zara, i just had to take a photo.

i think i saw a new street performer just about every city we went to. they reminded me so much of being in hawaii where i first saw that people dress up like robot celebrities and somehow make some money.

the architecture was killing me! everything was just so cute.

this photo was while i was out shopping with my aunt in downtown hamburg and she insisted on taking this photo of me because she really liked the water...and she knew how excited i was about my zara bag.

my sweet auntie.

my cute cousin parastu and i.

now this was just a low point for humanity. i spotted this moving bar that is powered by people cycling....while they order their alcoholic drinks. crazy! i suppose if you are going to drink you might as well get your exercise along with it.

did i mention how much i loved the buildings?

and of course, who doesn't want a cupcake on the go?!

day one was pretty much filled with driving around, walking around, shopping around and seeing our family's home town. it was perfect.
