On our second day in Germany, we just wanted to relax and enjoy a quiet day after much traveling. It was so nice to just hang around my aunt's house and spend time together.
I think their house is just so cute. Or maybe I just like it because it is white and gray?
My dad loved their house because it came equipped with this lawn chair that he could cat nap in. He kept saying he felt like he was in California...except Germany is way better.
We decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood just to see what some of the other homes looked like and enjoy the beautiful day outside.
Oh, what I would give to have a cobblestone driveway, so pretty!
I loved seeing different architecture on the surrounding homes. This one reminded me of Minnie Mouse's house at Disneyland. Leave it to me to find Disney everywhere I go.
This home was my absolute favorite! It was so charming and beautiful with all that brick, those shiny black roof tiles, the cute windows and... well, I could go on and on.
The best and most beautiful part of the neighborhood is all the trees and flowers and just nature in general. Obviously, this spider is not the most beautiful thing but it was awesome to see it close up.
This is the home I picked out for Cody. I knew he would like it with all of its modern-ness.
After a relaxing day and a nice, long neighborhood walk, it was time for dinner. People have asked me how the food in Germany was and for the most part I can't really say because I ate Persian food the whole time.
Except for this meal.... fish is a no go for Caitlin. Especially when the head is still in tact...yipes!
This is a true Persian happening...My aunt called my dad a week before we came to visit to ask what kind of food I like that she could cook for us. My dad told her that I will eat most things, EXCEPT for FISH. I hate fish!
So of course, this is what shows up on the dinner table.
A prime example of this is described in this youtube video: go here.
Luckily, there was always rice for me to enjoy in the company of my dad and cousins.
