february air: day one.

february first means day one of the countdown to that awful holiday: vvvalentines day.

actually, i've never cared much for the super sappiness nor have i ever cared to despise it because i didn't have a boyfriend or because "love stunk."

but, since i have a husband of my very own now, (and because last valentines day i should have been with him but instead saw him from afar at mary poppins with another girl when i was with another guy)

here is one of my favorite things about him:

he always tries to be aware of my needs...

ok, so maybe they are mostly wants but either way, he takes care of me.

example numero uno:

on the day he proposed i know he had a special, different spot to ask me that official, long awaited question. buuuuut since i had just gotten off work on that fateful saturday, and i pretty much knew there was a diamond ring around him somewhere, i was just ready to say yes...and eat lunch...like, asap.

hence the part about him taking care of my 'needs' because i was so hungry that when he asked me where i wanted to go (with the picnic he had all packed up) i said, "somewhere close."

hungry caitlin = impatient caitlin

so, instead of taking a nice drive up to the lake to be surrounded by the spring wildflowers...

we ended up at val vista lakes.

you know, on the other side of the tunnel, enjoying traffic noises below the main road, staring out over the water behind the houses. but we still spent a wonderful 2 hours picnicking and frolicking while enjoying that day that also happened to be the persian new year (march 20th).

marriage proposal fail (on my behalf.)

not only did he let me ruin his proposal plans but he still treated me to my fave kinds of ice cream after our lunch. i meeeean, if i were him i probably would have realized what a nut i am and called off the whole engagement.

ok, maybe not.
